Grimo, the InkMap mascot

Hey — I'm Grimo, I look after this place. Don't overthink this one:

  • You don't need your studio here to join. Sign up on your own and you're on the map today — you can link up with the studio whenever, and either of you can start it.
  • Three pictures is the whole ask. Nothing to keep up afterwards, no posting every day.
  • It's free, nothing you make gets wiped, and there's no card to enter.

You're early, and there aren't many of us here yet — which is exactly why you turning up counts for something.

Artists, studios and clients are on InkMap today, and every tool is unlocked.

Four steps, about three minutes

  1. 1

    Install TestFlight

Apple's own app for trying apps before the App Store — free, and how Apple requires betas to be handed out. Already have it? Skip to step 2.

    Get TestFlight

When TestFlight opens it will say you need an invitation. That is normal — it does not mean you haven't been invited.

TestFlight shows that screen to everybody until an invitation is used, and yours is on this page. Come back here and tap the gold button in step 2 — that's the invitation, and it's the only thing that clears the screen.

Don't use TestFlight's “Redeem” button. Our invitation is a link, not a typed code, and that box will tell you the code is invalid. Nothing is wrong — it's the wrong door.

  2. 2

    Tap the gold button below

That's the actual invitation, and it opens TestFlight for you — nothing to copy or paste. Installing TestFlight on its own doesn't give you InkMap; this is the step that does.

  3. 3

    Tap Accept, then Install

Inside TestFlight. Accept adds you as a tester, Install downloads InkMap. Two taps.

  4. 4

Open InkMap and make your account

The icon's on your home screen like any other app. Pick your account type, put up three pictures, and you're on the map.

You're first — here's the plan you're part of

This first round is small on purpose, and it's people we know. Don't expect the app to be busy the day you open it — that isn't what this stage is for. Right now we're putting the first real profiles on the map, so everyone arriving after you finds somewhere worth staying.

Then it starts moving: two conventions, three cities, and a campaign that's been written and waiting for two months — the whole plan is here. All of it arrives at an app that either looks alive or looks empty, and the handful of people invited now are the ones who decide which. Twenty minutes setting your profile up properly is genuinely the difference.

Once you're in, here's what to set up

Pick what you are and you'll get the short list that actually applies to you.

Post 3 pictures

Tattoos, flash, or even just a shot of you working — any three will do.

Then tap the star on each one to make them your featured images — those are what show on your profile and on your pin on the map. One star per post, so it's 3 posts rather than 3 pictures in one.

Working in a studio? If it's already on InkMap, pick it when you sign up and ask the owner to accept you — that's what puts you on their pin. If it isn't here yet, don't wait for it: set your own address (your studio's street address is fine) and you're on the map today. Either of you can link up later, and nothing you set up is lost.

To switch appointments on

  • Fill the "Process & Pricing" info card
  • Fill the "Availability & Schedule" info card
  • Fill the "Policies & Legal" info card
  • Open your calendar

You can list no services at all and still take bookings — tattoo requests are project-based, not slot-based.

What that gets you

Your page at inkmap.app/yourname takes real requests: the client describes the project, picks dates and agrees your policies, all from their browser with nothing to install.

Three, and then you can forget about it

That's the whole ask. There's nothing to keep up afterwards.

A post takes a minute. No caption, no hook, no hashtags, no sound to choose. InkMap asks what the piece actually is — style, colours, placement — and you tap the answers from lists.

And you don't have to post to stay visible. Nobody finds you by scrolling — people filter by style, city and technique, and they look at the map. Work you put up months ago still comes up, and your pin and your inkmap.app page don't go stale at all.

Worth knowing before you start

  • Nothing here is throwaway. Your profile, your work and your bookings carry straight through to launch. You're not filling in a test account.
  • Your three months free start at launch, not now. Joining early doesn't burn your trial — the clock starts on launch day.
  • It's a beta, so expect the odd rough edge. Tell us when you hit one — that's the whole point of this stage, and it genuinely gets fixed.

On Android?

Same app, already built — what's left is the setup Google requires before we can hand it to real people. It's next, right behind iPhone.
