Controlling sensitive content
How the Sensitive Content setting changes the way body-modification content (scarification, implants, tongue splitting, and similar) appears for you across the app.
Settings → Sensitive Content controls how body-modification content — scarification, implants, tongue splitting, and similar — appears for you. You pick one of three levels; it takes effect everywhere body-modification content can show up.
The three levels
- Always Show — body-modification content appears normally, with no overlay.
- Blurred — content is covered with a dark overlay. Tap an individual post to reveal it. This is the level you start on.
- Hidden — the body-modification feed is hidden, and content is covered everywhere else.
Where the setting applies
Your choice covers everywhere body-modification content can appear — the main feed, map clusters, studio team cards, posts shared with you in messages, and the post grids on profiles (including a body-modification practitioner's own profile). On any covered surface, tap a post to reveal it.
Under 18
If your birthdate puts you under 18, body-modification content is restricted and the setting is locked on the hidden level. It unlocks on your 18th birthday.
If you're a body-modification practitioner or studio
This setting doesn't appear for body-modification practitioners and studios — your own discipline's work always shows for you, so there's nothing to dial down.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the blur apply on a practitioner's profile too, or only in the feed?
It applies on profiles as well. When your setting is Blurred or Hidden, the post grid on a body-modification practitioner's profile is covered just like the feed — tap a post to reveal it.
- Can I turn the blur off completely?
Yes — choose Always Show. (This is only available once you're 18; under-18 accounts stay on the hidden level.)
