What counts as a completed session in Stats
The rule Stats uses to decide which bookings, sessions, and appointments make it into the charts — and which never do.
Stats only counts work you marked complete. Pending bookings, bookings still in negotiation, and bookings that were cancelled before the work happened never show up in the charts.
What counts
A booking enters your retrospective Stats once you tap Mark Complete on its Review tab. The unit is a session for tattoo and body modification work, and an appointment for piercing, laser, and PMU work.
For project-based bookings, every session inside the booking is tracked separately. A tattoo booked as three sittings is three sessions — each one enters the charts the moment you mark it complete, even if the other sittings are still upcoming.
A dropped session also counts. Dropping is what you tap for a no-show or for work that started and ended unfinished, and it feeds the Cancellation Rate, the Cancellation Analysis chart, and the kept-deposits totals.
What doesn't count
- Bookings still in negotiation — proposals going back and forth, dates not locked, deposit not paid.
- Bookings cancelled before any session went ahead.
- Confirmed bookings whose date is still in the future.
None of those reach the Activity, Clients, or Revenue tabs. Forecast is the exception below.
Forecast is the exception
The Forecast tab shows what's about to happen — upcoming sessions, expected revenue, scheduled deposits. Pending and confirmed-but-future bookings feed it. None of them touch the retrospective tabs.
Forecast also has its own date picker on the tab itself, separate from the period selector at the top of the page.
Frequently asked questions
- I marked a piercing complete this morning. Why isn't it in my Activity tab?
Check the period selector at the top of the page. A custom range or a past month that ends before today won't include this morning.
- A client cancelled a booking and forfeited the deposit. Where does that money show up?
On the Revenue tab, under Kept Deposits. The booking itself isn't counted as a completed session — the deposit becomes its own line in your revenue total.
- Do dropped sessions hurt my Completion Rate?
Yes. Completion Rate weighs your completed sessions against your completed-plus-dropped total, so a drop pulls it down. Bookings cancelled before any work started aren't part of that sum at all.
- I created a manual booking for a walk-in. Does that count once I mark it complete?
Yes. Manual bookings flow through the same Mark Complete action and the same Stats counters as bookings made by a client.
