The News tab
OverviewWhat the News area covers — guest spots, events, meetings, and job offers — where each one lives in the app, and which help section to read for the details.
News is where you keep up with what's happening around InkMap. You'll find it in three places: the News tab in the bottom bar, a News area inside your notifications, and a News tab on each profile.
The bottom News tab is open to everyone. It has an Events section and a Job Offers section, each with a filter bar to narrow results by type, date, and place.
The News area in your notifications is your personal calendar and feed. It opens on a Calendar that plots everything you've got coming up — guest spots, meetings, events, jobs, and interviews — each with its own colour in the key below it. You can also switch to per-type lists: All, Guests, Meetings, Events, and Jobs. The Meetings list shows a small number when you have invites you haven't answered yet.
The News tab on a profile is about that one account — but what's visible depends on the account type:
- Practitioners — the Events subtab is hidden from visitors by default. You always see your own joined events; visitors only see them if you turn Events Tab to Visible in Settings → Privacy & Visibility (and you can still hide individual events from their cards). See Showing or hiding your events.
- Studios — the Events subtab is always there. Public events show to everyone; private events show only to the organiser, people invited, and people who joined.
- On your own profile you also get private sections only you can see — your Meetings and your job applications (the Jobs tab) — and tattoo artists get a Guests section for their confirmed guest spots.

Guest Spots
A guest spot is when a tattoo artist works out of another studio for a stretch of time. Once a guest spot is confirmed, those dates show up under the Guests section of the artist's profile. Guest spots are for tattoo artists and tattoo studios.

Events
Events are flash days, workshops, charity days, and other one-off happenings. Anyone can browse them from the Events section of the News tab and filter by type, date, and place. Studios can post their own — each event is public or private depending on how it was created.

Meetings
A meeting is a private get-together a studio sets up with its team. If you're invited, it shows up in your notifications' News area — both as its own colour on the Calendar and in the Meetings list — and in the private Meetings section of your profile's News tab. From any of these you can reply to the invite, and a small number on the Meetings tab tells you how many invites are still waiting on your answer. Studios organise and manage meetings from their calendar.

Job Offers
The Job Offers section of the News tab lists open positions. You can filter by type and location and apply straight from a listing. Studios can post offers and review applicants.

- Who can post events and job offers?
Studios. The profile also needs a venue address, and posting is part of the Events & Job Board subscription — see Premium.

Browsing. You can look through events and job offers and filter them. Posting is for studios.
