Independent location privacy levels

Independent practitioners choose how precisely their working location shows on their profile and the map — exact address, neighbourhood, or city only.

If you work independently instead of out of a studio, you set a working location so people can find you. You don't have to show your full street address. There are three levels of precision, and you pick the one you're comfortable with. Studios always show their full shop address, so this choice only applies to independent practitioners.

  • Show Exact Location

Your full working address shows on your profile — street, city, and country. The location row becomes tappable: people can open it on the map, get directions, or copy the address. Choose this if you want walk-up clients and want to be easy to find.

  • Show Area Only

Your profile shows your area — your neighbourhood, or your city if there's no neighbourhood on file — plus the country, but not the street. This narrows you down to a part of town without publishing your exact door.

  • Contact for Location

Your profile shows just your city and country, followed by Contact for location. People know roughly where you are but get the precise spot only after they message you. Choose this if you work from a private space or home and don't want the address public.

Frequently asked questions

Does this affect where my pin sits on the map?

Your pin is placed from the coordinates of the location you entered. The privacy level controls how much of the written address is shown on your profile and whether the directions and copy buttons appear.

I joined a studio — does this still apply?

No. Once you're on a studio's team, people see the studio's address, not an independent location.
