Showing or hiding your events
The events you join can show on your profile's News tab — hidden by default. How to turn the Events Tab on with the privacy setting, and how to show or hide one event at a time from its card.
When you join an event, it can show under the Events section of your own profile's News tab. By default this is hidden — showing where you're going is something you opt into, not out of. You decide how much is visible — all at once, or one event at a time. For the bigger picture, see How events work on InkMap.
Step by step
- 1
See your joined events
Open your own profile, go to the News tab, and tap Events. You'll see the upcoming events you've joined, soonest first. (You can always see your own list, even while the tab is hidden from visitors.)
- 2
Show your events to visitors
By default no one else can see which events you join. To make your Events tab visible on your profile, go to Settings → Privacy & Visibility and turn the Events Tab setting to Visible. Switch it back to Hidden whenever you want.
- 3
Hide or show one event at a time
On your own Events list, each event card has a small Visible / Hidden badge in the corner. Tap it to flip that single event, and confirm. This lets you keep your Events tab visible while hiding just the ones you'd rather not share — and the per-event choice works whichever way your overall setting is set.
Frequently asked questions
- Does hiding an event remove me from it?
No. Hiding only controls what shows on your profile. You're still joined, you still get reminders, and the poster still counts you as attending.
- I'm on a studio account — where's my Events Tab setting?
Studio accounts post events rather than join them, so there's no Events Tab privacy setting to hide. The events you post are public or private depending on how you created each one.
