The notifications screen
Open your notifications from the bell on your own profile, find your way around the Posts, Community, Trust, App, and News tabs, and learn which activity lives on its own screen instead.
Your notifications live behind the Notifications button on your own profile — the bell icon. Open it and you land on a row of tabs that sort your activity by type. This guide walks through what each tab holds and what happens when you tap a notification.
Not everything notifies you here. Bookings, direct messages, and a few other areas keep their alerts on their own screens — there's a section below on where to find those.
Opening your notifications
Open your own profile and tap Notifications (the bell). A number badge on the button tells you how many unread notifications are waiting. The screen opens on the first tab; switch tabs along the top to move between types.
Posts
Activity on the posts you've published and on collaborations: likes, comments, replies, saves, post reposts, and tag or collaboration requests. Tapping one opens the post or the person who acted on it.
Community
Follows and subscribers — who started following you, who accepted your follow request, and who subscribed to your updates. Tapping one opens that person's profile. A follow request you've received shows Accept and Decline buttons right on the notification.
Trust
Your standing in the community: trust level changes, warnings, dispute outcomes, and — if you take part in moderation — review assignments and confirmations. Tapping one opens your Community Standing page on the matching section.
App
Announcements, new-feature notes, and tips from InkMap, alongside account housekeeping like a module that's expiring or a credential that needs renewing. Some of these are tappable and take you to the relevant screen; others are just for reading.
News
Events, job offers, and guest artists near you, plus updates and reminders for the ones you follow. This tab also holds the location and filter settings that decide which news reaches you — see the News section for how that works.
What lives on its own screen instead
Several areas don't post into this screen — they each have their own screen with its own badge, so they don't get buried. You'll find them where the activity happens, not in your notifications:
- Bookings — the Bookings button on your profile, with its own badge.
- Direct messages — the Messages button, with its own unread count.
- [Guest spots](/help/guest_spots/concepts/how-guest-spots-work) — managed from the studio or artist guest-spot screens.
- Reviews — on your profile's reviews section.
- Client invites — in the booking screens.
- Studio accounting — in the studio's Accounting tab.
Frequently asked questions
- Where's the bell? I don't see a Notifications button.
It only shows on your own profile, not on other people's. Open your profile from the bottom bar.
- I got a push about a booking but there's nothing in the Posts/Community/etc. tabs.
Bookings have their own screen. Open the Bookings button on your profile — the booking activity and its badge are there.
