Building your studio team
Invite artists to your studio by username, accept practitioners who request to join, and control whether new practitioners can find and request you.
Your team lives on the Team tab, which has Members, Requests, and Arrangements inside it. The Team tab is free to use. There are two ways an artist ends up on your roster: you invite them, or they ask to join you.
Inviting an artist
On the Members sub-tab, use the search box — Search artists by username to invite… — to find a practitioner by their username. Only practitioners who aren't already attached to a studio show up. Tap Invite next to the right person.
You can also invite from a practitioner's profile with the Invite to Team button. Either way, the artist gets an invitation and joins your Members list once they accept. Until then, your invite shows as Invited in the search results.
Handling join requests
Practitioners can ask to join you — when they create their account, or from your studio profile. Their requests collect on the Requests sub-tab, which carries a red number when something's waiting.
Each pending request shows the artist, their discipline, when they asked, and any message they left. Accept adds them to your team right away; Reject turns them down. Both send the artist a notification. Accepting also sets up their financial arrangement — your studio default if you've set one, otherwise a blank one to fill in later. See Setting up arrangements.
When you accept someone, their public location becomes your studio's, and if they were working independently before, that independent location is switched off (their address details are kept). Their upcoming bookings come with them onto your calendar.
Being found by new practitioners
The Requests sub-tab has a visibility switch at the top:
- Studio Visible — new practitioners can find your studio while creating an account and send you join requests.
- Studio Hidden — your studio appears as not accepting new members. People can still see it, but can't send a request.
When an invite and a request match
If you invite someone who had already asked to join you (or the other way around), the two match and the artist joins your team automatically — no second step. You'll see them appear under Members.
Frequently asked questions
- I invited someone. Why don't they show up in Requests?
Requests only lists people asking to join you. Invitations you've sent show as Invited in the Members search and as Invitation Sent on the artist's profile. The artist appears under Members once they accept.
- Does the artist's old work or independent listing disappear when they join?
Their public location becomes your studio, and an independent location is switched off — but the address details aren't deleted, and their existing bookings move onto your calendar.
- Can a piercing or PMU studio host other disciplines?
Yes — any studio type can have a team of any practitioner type. (Welcoming visiting guest tattoo artists is the one tattoo-studio-only exception, handled through Guest Spots.)
