Choosing which notifications you get
Turn push notifications on or off, set Quiet Hours, and switch individual notification types on or off from the Push Notifications settings screen.
Push notifications are the alerts that reach your phone when you're not in the app. You control them from one screen: open Profile Settings, then tap Push Notifications. This guide covers the master switch, Quiet Hours, and the per-type toggles.
Step by step
- 1
Open the Push Notifications screen
From your profile, open Profile Settings and tap Push Notifications under Preferences. Everything below lives on that screen.
- 2
Turn push on or off
The switch at the top, Enable Push Notifications, is the master control. Turn it off and InkMap sends you no push at all — the rest of the screen hides until you turn it back on. Your in-app notifications screen keeps working either way; this only affects alerts pushed to your phone.
- 3
Set Quiet Hours
Under Do Not Disturb, switch on Quiet Hours and pick a start and end time. During that window, non-urgent push is held back and delivered afterwards. Critical alerts — bookings and safety — still come through.
- 4
Switch individual types on or off
Under Notification Categories you'll see categories such as Bookings, Messages, Social & Community, and News. The exact categories depend on your account type. Tap a category to expand it into smaller groups, and tap a group to reveal its individual toggles, so you can silence one specific kind of alert without losing the rest of the category. The category switch turns the whole category on or off at once.
A few toggles are marked Soon — those aren't active yet and can't be switched on.
- 5
Tune your News alerts
News alerts (events, jobs, and guest artists near you) are filtered by location and type. The Location & filter settings link at the bottom of the screen jumps you into the News tab where you set which event types, which area, and what radius trigger them.
Frequently asked questions
- I'm looking in Device Permissions but there's no notifications switch.
Device Permissions only covers Location, Camera, and Photo Library. Push notifications are on the separate Push Notifications screen, also under Profile Settings.
- If I turn a type off, do I lose it completely?
No. Turning a type off only stops the push to your phone. The activity still appears on your notifications screen or its own screen when you next open the app.
- Why didn't I get a push for every message in a busy chat?
Message alerts are spaced out on purpose so a fast back-and-forth doesn't buzz your phone constantly. See How notifications reach you.
