How to get the Instagram-confirmed badge on your profile by adding your InkMap link to your Instagram bio, and what the badge means.
The Instagram-confirmed badge shows people that the artist behind your Instagram is the artist behind your InkMap profile. It's the answer to being impersonated: anyone can copy your photos, but only you can edit your bio.
Getting it is quick. You add your InkMap link to your Instagram bio, tap a button, and we look. Practitioners and studios can ask for it.
Step by step

Open the badge screen
Go to Settings → Instagram-confirmed Badge. It explains the method and shows your current state.

Copy your InkMap link
Tap the link to copy it. It looks like
inkmap.app/yourusername. - 3
Paste it into your Instagram bio
Either in the bio text or in Instagram's website field — both work. There's a shortcut on the screen that opens Instagram's bio settings for you.

Ask us to check
Back on the screen, make sure the Instagram handle shown is the account carrying the link, then tap I've added the link — please check.

Leave the link there until we've looked
You'll get a notification either way, usually quickly. Once you're confirmed, the badge appears on your profile and on your public page.
Where the badge appears
On your profile in the app, and on your public page at
inkmap.app/yourusername. Tap it to see the month it was confirmed.It deliberately doesn't appear on posts, comments, messages, search results, or map pins. It's a fact about your profile, not a decoration on everything you do.
What it means, and what it doesn't
The badge says that InkMap looked at your Instagram bio on a particular date and found your InkMap link there. Since only the account owner can edit that bio, that confirms the two accounts belong to the same person.
It is not an identity check. We don't ask for documents and we don't check your legal name — which is also why the badge is never called "verified". It claims exactly what was checked and nothing more.
After you're confirmed
Nothing expires and nothing gets re-checked. You can change your bio whenever you like — we won't look again and the badge won't be taken away for it. Keeping the link there just means people who find you on Instagram can reach your InkMap page in one tap.
Frequently asked questions
- Can clients and collectors get the badge?
No. It exists to signal trust in practitioners and studios — the side being chosen and booked.
- What if I don't want to keep the link in my bio?
That's entirely your call. The badge stays. The link is a tool if you want it, not a condition.
- My request was rejected — what now?
The screen shows the reason. The usual cause is that the link wasn't in the bio yet, or the handle given wasn't the account carrying it. Fix that and ask again from the same screen.
- Does it help me rank higher or show up in more searches?
No. It isn't a search filter and it doesn't affect ranking. It's there so people can trust the profile they're looking at is really yours.
